Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. People unfamiliar with the term often think that it's an island that's west of Montreal but in fact this part of West Island is home to every aspect of the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But this is not true. Brugel became a woman of a certain age living in Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew her dance partners she had. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that she wore heels and was six feet and one inches tall. After I outgrew the male partners, I quit. Some former dancers switch into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was a nudge from the drama instructor at her high school that led her in the right direction. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the school's annual production. It led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Over the past 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles on more than 60 productions across the big and small screens, attracting the greatest interest when she was offered the character in the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character Rita in the Handmaid's Tale the series filmed over ten years ago.
